The Path of Exile Survival Guide is a beginner’s guide and introduction to the game. This walkthrough starts with our templar lying in the mud, level 1 on the beach and it will hopefully end with a strong build with great clear speed and good boss killing potential. I will be sharing all my Path of Exile tips in this series.

I will be levelling an Arc totem Hierophant (great PoE Beginner guild) for this Path of Exile walkthrough I will share my Path of Building character info in the coming days.

The Path of Exile Survival Guide was recorded during Betrayal League/PoE 3.5

Hello im a complete beginner but i am interested in the shadow class (trickster or assassin) should i look into some builds for those classes or maybe i should start with some other class?

Vankruze says:

Supporting the POE newbies in a big way with this video!

Ujimako _ says:

As a POE virgin myself (started around a month ago), i disagree when you say "you should think about a build you should play". Builds are way too confusing for a beginner. Just choose a class based on standard fantasy game classes (marauder-warrior, witch-mage, shadow-thief/rogue, ranger-ranger, templar-paladin, duelist-can't think of anything lol) and just go with it. Learn as you go. You first character will always be shit. Go slow, learn the story, do the quests. Don't go googling stuff "best build for X". Don't stress yourself over the "meta" builds. You are just starting. It took me 37 hours just to complete the story.

Ray Mistyc says:

Great video btw ๐Ÿ™‚ But I don't seem to be able to get the Lootfilter working….

Ali Salim says:

You know Lifting, Path of Exile is the least beginner friendly game out there. The first time I started playing I picked up every item regardless of its rarity and compared it to everything I had on at all times. Think it took me a few days to hit level 20(didn't know what a loot filter even was obviously ). And after about 1000+ hours now, I've realized that the game aside from the build play style which eventually turns into muscle memory is solely based on the knowledge(theory). That information is gathered through no other source than just spending time reading forums and watching others and/or trial and error ourselves.
So to the new comers out there, Path of Exile is lucky to have someone like you Lifting taking the time out to constantly share your knowledge through your own trials and errors so others have a better experience. Good on you sir. Keep up the heavy lifting!(someone's gotta help carry the new players into this awesome game) ๐Ÿ˜€

john smith says:

Man, i'm kinda half-newbie, i tell you – you're doing great content! And atleast half of that feeling of great content you're offer – it's about you and how do you tell things, your's manners. Dunno how to explain it well, cause it's not my native lang thought! You're the great PoE's community's member, sir!
