Bright light, lightweight & small enough for easy storage when not in use. This is a good lantern which I purchased in the event of a power outage. It is small and very lightweight (without the batteries installed), the top handle is useful as I have them hung in several key places in case power does goes out. I will say, like most lanterns, closing the bottom on after inserting the batteries is somewhat difficult (I did have to read reviews other wrote regarding how to screw on the bottom.
