Using Hiking Poles Tips:

  1. Your pole should be about 3 inches shorter than your armpit. That is a good general length that will work for most uphill, downhill, and flat terrain and keep you from adjusting the lengths during hikes.

  2. When you hold your poles, use the wrist straps. Put your hand through the strap and then make a U or O with your thumb and fingers around the grip section. You should not need to tightly grip the pole but instead use your wrist to put a load on the pole.Where you are holding the pole, it should swing freely sort of like an extra joint connecting the pole to your arm.

  3. When hiking on fairly Level Ground, the poles are swung forward in time with the opposite foot. But, the pole tips never come ahead of the body. You just plant the tip and push down with your wrist to provide more forward power.

  4. On Steep Upgrades, the poles are planted next to or slightly ahead of the same foot. Pushing down on the wrist strap lightens the load on that same leg. Your hands tend to be higher up around shoulder height when climbing.

Why choosing Nycoo carbon fiber hiking sticks?

    1. Extra lift when climbing steep trails
  5. Extra support when descending steep trails

  6. Balance – through boulder fields, crossing streams, narrow ledges, slippery mud (but watch out that you don’t break it between big rocks)

  8. Knocking spider webs down ahead of you on the trail

  9. Protection against snakes, dogs, and other bothers

  10. Longer reach – things dropped in water, lifting bear bags, frisbees in trees, helping companions across streams and logs

  11. Resting Aid to lean on

  12. Noise-maker – tap it on rocks as you like to let wildlife know you are coming

10.Trail tool to knock branches, rocks, pine cones off to the side of the trail

Comfortable, convenient, and good quality I’m starting to hike more seriously so I was eager to get good quality hiking poles. Research says using hiking poles reduces stress on legs and knees. My knees and legs definitely feel better when I’m using these after a long hike. They also help with balance in general and climbing steep hills. I especially like the fact that these are collapsible and not folding. Even though they are a bit heavier than one piece folding walking sticks, I can adjust them to the precise length I…

These are awesome!! These are super light weight, and very sturdy. They come with multiple tip types for different terrain, and a carry bag for easy travel. They are quickly adjustable and once tightened, I didn’t have any trouble with them losing length while there is weight on them. The cork handles are comfortable, but there is foam below that also so you can use either one. Looking forward to having these on long hikes!

Very happy with these! 5 stars I’ll be using these hiking poles next summer on a Canadian canoe trip. Having just tried them out in my neighborhood, they will work very well. They’re lighter than I expected, for starters. When collapsed, they’ll easily attach on the outside of my pack. And yet, they feel very rigid and strong. Lastly, the handles, clasps, and baskets all feel well engineered and made to last.
