Remember, you’re not buying (or paying for) a Hults Bruk or Gransfors Bruk axe.Immediately out of the box I wanted to see how well it worked. I had some seasoned oak that ranged from 2.5 to 3.75″ in diameter. Without sharpening or changing the contour of the blade, this little axe split that wood into kindling fairly easily. and essentially useless. Once it got sharpened Came unsharp, and essentially useless. Once it got sharpened, however, it was a beast! It’s not the best hatchet I own, but it’ll take a beating, and chop some wood up. For the price, I would recommend a Husqvarna, however.This Hatchet is small, and easily fits in a bag, and it comes with a beautiful, sturdy, leather sheath. I’ll be using it more in the field now that it is sharpened, and I’ll let y’all know how that goes!
