So Impressed ! Bought 2 pairs for two boys just learning to kayak fish with me. Put it in their first, independently owned, tackle kit – a gift for Easter 2018. Decent fishing pliers but could be better These do the trick, but two improvements I’d like to see are a bigger line cutter (in the dark, it’s really hard to see where this tiny blade is!) and a built-in locking mechanism that will keep these closed when I’m not using them.

Great Pliers, Good Price If you need a good pair of fishing pliers for inshore fishing you can’t go wrong with these. I have used them for an entire fishing season here on the Texas coast averaging more than 1 fishing trip per week and fishing my dock 3~4 times per week. The Booms X1 have held up well to the saltwater abuse. The cutter blades are still sharp enough to cut braid, monofilament, and light (<40lb) single strand wire. The spring loaded hinge still works almost as good as the day they were new…
